The Infamous Masterson’s , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my latest trip at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The Condition of the Premises : Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was clear that hygiene was not a priority at this establishment . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and neglected washrooms suffused the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of ammonia , decay and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the focal point of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The toilet was in even worse condition —overflowing , with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was feces.

The bar is managed by Pete Cornwell, who also holds a senior role as a stress-testing executive at Westpac.
